Abstract

The researcher has discussed the jurisprudence as well as the significance of Ijtihad, a method of the interpretation of jurisprudence   in Islam. Islamic jurisprudence is not the name of an activity that merely involves memorizing a few technical terms, but it includes the comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Islam, which is acquired by the visionary and practicing Muslim Scholars. The crux of the discussion is that Allah Almighty has blessed humanity with a number of talents and He wants us to utilize our energies for positive activities to find the solution to the problems and challenges this universe creates for him. The scholars of Islam have utilized the jurisprudence as well as Ijtihad in all eras to resolve the emerging social issues. There are certain an interpreter or a mujtahid has to possess viz the complete knowledge and command of the both general and specific areas of Knowledge. The researcher has analyzed the need for Ijtihad in certain matters and given the example of Jihad for which Ijtihad is necessary. To strengthen his point, the researcher has presented the views of various Muslim Scholars. The researcher has highlighted the need of gaining power for constructive activities. The researcher has underlined the point that ignoring the revolutionary power of electronic and digital media for mass communication has undermined the processed of Islamic preaching, and those Muslim Clerics who could not understand the significance of technology are responsible for this situation. Muslims must utilize the power of the internet to defy the powers of evil who are utilizing technology for spreading their devilish thoughts. The scholars of Islam must understand that the situation is dire and they must utilize the power of technology in the light of Muslim Jurisprudence and Ijtihad for finding solutions to the problems both Muslim world and the humanity face
